… Die Konferenz „45MIN – Schule im Auftakt“ stellt sich der Herausforderung, Kreativität in den Unterricht einzubringen. Der Austausch zwischen Lehrern Gestaltern und Schulveränderern steht dabei im Mittelpunkt. Durch Vorträge kann von bestehenden Projekten gelernt und das Erfahrene in Workshops vertieft werden.

Namentlich als auch gestalterisch ist die Konferenz-Identität an Schule orientiert. Die Gestaltungselemente – Systemschriften, Standardpapiere, DIN-Formate, kopierte Bilder und Strukturen sowie Merkkästen – werden aufgegriffen. Die Farbigkeit von Plakaten und Umschlägen, als auch der Einsatz der Elemente, signalisieren den Auftakt zum Umdenken. Die Materialien erinnern an Schulhefte und informieren über Sprecher, Inhalt und Ablauf der Konferenz und dienen als Dokumentation. Die Plakatserie „Ich will …“ lädt zur Konferenz ein und eine zweite Serie mit Kreativitätstechniken aktiviert. Das Konzept und die Identität sollen zeigen, wie eine Schulkultur der Kreativität aufgebaut werden kann.

Das Projekt ist in zusammenarbeit mit Dennis Michaelis entstanden.

When going outdoors, design shouldn’t have to take the backseat. These enamel steel cups manufactured using World War Two era machinery are beautifully crafted and designed.

THINK DIFFERENT IMAC UPCYCLED PET BEDS

Each iMac is gutted and pieces are recycled appropriately, and the shell is left to be outfitted with a fluffy cushion in a complementing pattern to whatever the Apple computer’s original color was. But don’t think that the speakers go to waste. In most cases, the bulbous speakers have been attached to the rear back portion of the computer to keep the bed stable and level for your pet.

Mornington Beach House by Clare Cousins Architects

The brief was to provide additional accommodation to an existing 1970’s Merchant Builder’s home in Mornington, Victoria. Located on a sloping block, the existing single storey house is sited well back on the block with limited access to ocean views. Rather than demolish or renovate the existing building our approach was to keep the building in tact and design a new pavilion to sit adjacent to the original at the front of the site. The new pavillion includes a new master bedroom wing with living room and deck for outdoor dining that captures broad views of Port Philip Bay. Planning regulations permit only first floor structures that are located over car parking or storage areas which informed the elevated ‘stilt’ design. Timber construction is used holistically both internally and externally while an enclosed circulation stair clad in translucent polycarbonate connects the original to the new structure.
